Callus
Callus is an area of skin that has become thickened and hard. This is caused by repeated pressure or friction on the same area.
Treatment
The area of callus would be pared and filed right down to immediately relieve discomfort. If paddings or dressings are required, these would be applied.
Advice would be given about correct fitting footwear and the patient would be given information about ways to prevent callus from reoccurring.
